Honoring Joseph Moss

In loving Memory of Joseph Dwayne Moss Born April 22nd 1987. He passed away Aug 1st 2018. A military Veteran, Joe loved the military and what it represented to this family, his father, brother and his brother in-law. The Moss family has several generations that dedicated their lives in the military service of this great country. Joseph not only served in the military, but he served his community at the Phoenix Dream Center’s foster care program. His service work in the surrounding communities included the local skate parks where his impact with was tremendous. He touched so many lives, and he is truly missed.

A friend of Joseph’s remembers “When I first entered the Phoenix Dream Center, I had no confidence in myself, only sadness and anger, but Joe’s smile gave me hope. He would say you don’t have to be perfect because we are all flawed. When I felt depressed Joe would sit with me and say I see potential in you and you have the heart of a leader. Joe wanted the best for us. He was my friend and a leader. He often said he saw something in me, a light shining bright wanting to help others. I loved being around Joseph because his smile and his laugh was so encouraging to everyone around him, he made life fun. I miss Joe so much.

Joseph’s hobbies were skate boarding and teaching others how to skateboard, this was his lifelong love. But his true talent was drawing free hand. He was blessed with a remarkable talent of drawing in pencil.

Joseph’s father Dwayne recants “Joe was our peace maker, the fire and water in our lives, he would fire us up if we needed it or use the water to calm us down. His memory of those he touched will live on forever.
